Opioid addiction is a growing concern in the United States, and Greater Cincinnati in particular, and misuse of prescribed opioid pain medications is one of the leading causes of addiction. In this month’s episode of Health Talk by TriHealth, we speak with two TriHealth physicians, Michael Marcotte, MD, Director of Quality and Safety for TriHealth’s Women’s Services and a Maternal and Fetal Specialist with TriHealth’s Tri-State Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates, and Kenneth Patton, DO, an emergency medicine specialist, who are helping to lead the search for safer and more effective alternatives to pain management. We’ll also hear from Jamie Ryan, a patient who was treated with traditional pain medication during her first C-section, and a newer, safer Pain Pack treatment during her second.
