Atherosclerosis

What is Atherosclerosis?

Atherosclerosis is a form of arteriosclerosis—a condition where fatty materials collect and calcify on the inside of arteries. The resulting plaque creates blockages that can lead to a stroke, a heart attack, or a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lung).
