What is a Heart Attack?

A heart attack, or myocardial infarction (MI), is a condition where part of the heart is denied blood and oxygen for a period of time, causing permanent damage to the heart muscle.

How is Heart Attack Treated at TriHealth?

Heart attacks must be treated as soon as possible to save the heart muscle. If you suspect you or someone you are with is having a heart attack, please call 911, and get to an emergency room.

Depending on the extent of the specific blockage or if other blockages are recognized, a heart attack and blockages can be treated in many ways but, should include routine monitoring after the fact, potential medicine regimens, or some of the following:
