Arm Lift

 The upper arms can be a bothersome area for patients that have extra skin or unwanted fat the region. Removing those problems can lead to improved aesthetic and functional outcomes. Extra skin and fat can hang down from the upper arms causing rubbing against the chest wall and/or an unwanted aesthetic appearance. An arm lift is a surgical procedure that can remove unwanted/excessive skin and fat from the upper arm.

Are you a candidate? If you have developed sagging skin from age or weight loss or have unwanted fat in the upper arms then you are a candidate for an arm lift procedure.

Neck Lift

 The neck is an important physical attribute and a sculpted neckline can be a profound and defining feature to a person’s facial profile. A well-defined neck can have an important effect on the facial features. 

The neck is a region that can develop loose or sagging skin. Patients of all ages can benefit from a neck lift if they have developed loose skin or have pockets of fat that need to be removed. Post-operatively you can expect to have an improved cervicomental angle.

Are you a candidate? You are a candidate for neck surgery if you have developed loose or sagging skin over time either from aging or from weight loss. Other patients are candidates for neck surgery if they have extra unwanted fat in the region.

Thigh Lift

The upper legs can be a bothersome area for patients that have extra skin or unwanted fat the region. Extra skin and fat can hang down from the upper legs causing chafing and/or an unwanted aesthetic appearance.  A thigh lift is a surgical procedure that can remove unwanted skin and fat from the upper leg and crotch region. The surgery will help reshape the thigh region, allowing clothes to fit better and providing an improved aesthetic appearance. Removing those problems can lead to improved aesthetic and functional outcomes.

Upper body Lift

Extra skin folds of the upper back can be and aesthetic and functional concern. Whether you have had these your whole life or developed them over time their presence can be an issue. Surgery allows these to be removed in exchange for scars. An upper body lift addresses unwanted fat and skin of the upper back. This develops overtime and can be burdensome to patients, making it difficult to properly wear a brassiere. Incisions are made along the upper back and this tissue is removed through an upper body lift.  The removal of this skin will lead to a smoother and flatter upper back region. The trade-off for the skin is longer scars, but these can often be hidden in the bras line. 

Are you a candidate? If you have extra skin folds of the upper back that sag and are bothersome then you may be a candidate to have them surgically removed.

The procedure and recovery: Incisions are made along your upper back, sometimes hidden within the bras line. The extra tissue is remove and the incisions are closed. You will likely have drains. You will be back to light duty in 1-2 weeks, but full recovery and can take 1-2 months.

Lower Body Lift

Extra skin of the lower back and a sagging buttock can be and aesthetic concern. Whether you have had these your whole life or developed them over time their presence can be an issue. A lower body lift addresses unwanted fat and skin of the lower back and the sagging buttock. This develops overtime and can be burdensome to patients. Incisions are made along the lower back and this tissue is removed through a lower body lift. If desired, your own tissue can sometimes be used to augment the buttock. Surgery allows these to be removed in exchange for scars. The removal of this skin will lead to a smoother and more contoured lower back and buttock region. The trade-off for the skin is longer scars, but patients are usually very willing to accept this.  

Are you a candidate? If you have extra skin folds of the lower back, and a buttock that sags then you may be a candidate to have them surgically removed.

The procedure and recovery: Incisions are made along your lower back. The extra tissue is remove and the incisions are closed. You will likely have drains. You will be back to light duty in 1-2 weeks, but full recovery and can take 1-2 months.

Breast Augmentation With Implants

Breast implants are used to change the size and shape of your breasts to create balance and improved appearance.The breast is an important aesthetic feature of the female upper body. Patients who seek breast augmentation are looking for an improved appearance to the upper chest. By using an implant, either with silicone or saline, breast augmentation will help achieve balance and enhancement of the female figure.

Why? Balance of the womanly figure is an important aesthetic principle. Often the breast are not ideally shaped or formed to balance the rest of the female aesthetics. Breast augmentation is a procedure that allows for enhancement of the chest to achieve the shape you desire. It creates balance and enhanced shape to the female figure.

Breast Augmentation With Fat

A technique used to change the size and shape of your breasts by utilizing liposuction to remove fat from other parts of your body and transfer to your breasts by injection.

Why? Rather than using an implant for augmentation, fat grafting allows you to use your own fat from other areas of the body to augment the breast.

Are you a candidate? Only a select set of patients are candidates for the procedure. The results are modest compared to implant based breast augmentation.

Breast Augmentation With Lift

A combination of techniques used to change the size and shape of your breasts by using breat implants in addition to removing excess skin which creates a lifting effect. This procedures lifts a sagging breast while at the same time augments the breast with an implant to increase its size. This can sometimes be performed at the same time or occasionally needs to be staged into two different operations. The results will lead to a perkier breast with improved size and shape.

Why? The breasts sag over time. They also lose volume and look deflated. A breast augmentation with lift improves both of these aforementioned problems.

Are you a candidate? If your breasts have become ptotic or deflated and you desire to lift the breast while at the same time increase their size then this would be the ideal surgery for you.

Breast Lift

A surgical technique used to lift your breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape your breasts.

A breast lift is a procedure for breast that have developed ptosis, or sagging, over time by using a surgical technique to lift your breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape your breasts. There are a variety of incisions used to help reshape the natural breast. 

Why? Over time the breast deflates and the skin loosens leading to a ptotic breast. A breast lift, also known as a mastopexy, reshapes the natural contours of the breasts and lifts the nipple areolar complex. A mastopexy lifts and reshapes the breast. There is no augmentation involved in this procedure the overall volume will not change, but the breast itself can look larger because the native tissue is shaped into a new form.

Are you a candidate? If your breast sag and the nipple areolar complex is not in the correct position then you are likely a candidate for a mastopexy.

Female Breast Reduction

Some breasts are too large and out of proportion for your figure. A breast reduction is a surgical technique decreases the overall size of the breast while at the same time maintaining or enhancing its shape. It is used to used to balance and enhance the appearance of your breasts proportionately to your body and can be used to help alleviate weight and reduce physical pain.

Why? Some patients breasts are slightly too large and a cosmetic reduction will improve the overall shape and balance of the female aesthetic.

Are you a candidate? If your breasts are slightly too large and you desire to have an improved size and shape then you are likely a candidate for a cosmetic reduction. Extremely large breasts may be candidates for insurance-based reconstruction and those patients should be seen in the reconstructive clinic.

Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)

Males of all ages can develop excess and unwanted breast tissue. There is a variety of reasons gynecomastia develops on one side or both. Several different techniques can be used to remove or reduce unwanted breast tissue in the male patient. Through a small incision and/or liposuction this excess breast tissue can be removed.

Why? Gynecomastia patients have extra breast tissue that is unwanted. Hormones, medications, and drugs can all lead to the development of this problem. If the tissue does not subside with medical therapy then surgery is the next option. With surgery, the breast tissue will be removed and the breast will be reshaped to appear symmetrical and masculine. Each patient will have a different outcome based on their body type.

Are you a candidate? If you have developed breast tissue on one side of your chest or both then you may be a candidate for male breast reduction surgery. Often an evaluation by endocrinologist will be required before surgery is undertaken.

Cheek Implants

Implants help balance and enhance the contours of the face and other facial features.

Cheek implants are permanent prosthetic devices surgically placed to add volume to the midface. Adding volume around the cheeks creates a youthful appearance to someone who is deficient in this area.

Why? Voluminous cheeks provide a youthful and refreshed appearance. Some patient are born with decreased volume and projection in this area. Others develop bony loss and decreased fat pads with aging leading to deficiencies in the cheeks creating a flat or sunken appearance. The results are immediate, but you may experience swelling for several weeks following the operation. Due to swelling the final results will not be fully realized until a few months following the procedure.

Are you a candidate? If you have loss of volume in the cheeks and would like a permanent fix then you may be a candidate for cheek implants.

Chin Implants

Chin implants are permanent prosthetic devices surgically placed to add volume to the deficient chin. Adding volume helps balance out the facial proportions. Chin augmentation can also be performed without an implant by advancing the bone that is already there. Results are immediate, but you may experience swelling for several weeks following the operation. 

Why? A receding chin can create ad is proportionate look to the facial appearance. In particular chin augmentation can help balance out the nose and neck areas.

Are you a candidate? Patients are candidates for chin augmentation if they have a receding or disproportionally looking chin. During a consultation, the physician will also evaluate for an over or under-bite that may require orthagnathic surgery.

As you age the layers of the skin lose their structural integrity due to time and sun damage. Chemical peels are used to resurface the skin layers to provide a more youthful and refreshed look. Chemical peels are solutions applied to the face for skin resurfacing. They work by removing the damaged superficial layers of skin and allowing new skin and collagen to form. Peels are one of several non-operative options provided by Trihealth physicians for skin resurfacing. Chemical peels will provide a rejuvenated look with new healthier skin that is more uniform with less pigmented lesions.

Are you a candidate? If you have developed thinning skin, pigment changes, or wrinkles on your face then you may be a candidate. The whole face can be resurfaced with chemical peels or a focal area such as around the eyes or mouth can be targeted.

The procedure and recovery: Different peels penetrate different layers of the skin. Depending on the agent chosen this procedure will be performed either in the office or in the operating room. The recovery from superficial peels is shorter on the scale of 5-10 days. The recovery from deeper peels can take 2-3 weeks but also several months until all of the redness and swelling has dissipated.

Brow Lift

The forehead is a prominent focal point on the face and can be an early sign of aging. The physicians with Trihealth Cosmetic and Rejuvenation center are experienced in treating this area. If you are a candidate, the benefits of a brow lift, where the brow area is raised by lifting and tightening the forehead; providing improvement in the appearance of aging. will be discussed during your consultation.

Why? Wrinkles, also known as rhytids, develop and deepen with age, the brows also start to sag (ptosis) leading to signs of aging. Additionally, if brow ptosis advances it can obstruct the peripheral margins of your vision. A browlift procedure can perform two major changes to this area of your face. First, it can smooth out the wrinkles that have developed on your forehead. Secondly, it can raise any sagging or ptotic eyebrows.

Are you a candidate? If you have developed deep wrinkles on your forehead or having a ptotic eye brow then you are likely a candidate for this operation.

Eyelid Lift

An eyelid lift, also known as a blepharoplasty, removes excess skin and fat pads from the lower and/or upper eyelids. Patients also experience a droopy eyelid creating a “tired” look that is called ptosis which often requires repair. The eyelid area is lifted and excess skin removed to help reduce the look of droopy eyelids, puffiness and under-eye bags.  

Why? During the aging process excess skin can form on both the upper and lower eyelids. Additionally, there are several fat pads within each eyelid that can protrude over time. These changes can create and aged and tired look. If you have eyelid ptosis, this means that one of the muscles has separated from the internal structure of the lid and need to be reconnected. Blepharoplasty will provide a rejuvenated and refreshed look to a focal point on your face, scars are well hidden, and the effects can last many years to a lifetime.

Are you a candidate? If you have extra skin or fat pads that protrude from your eyelids then you are likely a candidate for this surgery. If you have a droopy eyelid then you may be a candidate for ptosis repair.

Lip Lift

The lip can elongate with age. This leads to disproportionate facial dimensions and can be a subtle sign of aging. A lip lift procedure restores these proportions to create a more balanced appearance.

Why? Lips can sag with time and become longer than proportionately expected. Lip lift does just that, it lifts and shortens the upper lift and allows more show of the upper teeth. The lip will be restored to a more natural appearing size and length. Sutures will be removed and a small scar will be present although most patients heal well enough that it is not even noticeable.

Face Lift

A facelift, also known as a rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure performed for the aging face. At the Trihealth Cosmetic Surgery and Rejuvenation Center, our surgeons perform a facelift with the intent of looking rejuvenated without the signs of an “operated” look. This surgical technique is used to help reduce wrinkles, sagging facial skin and droopy jowls.

Why? As one ages the skin loosens and sags on the face leading to jowls and wrinkles. Additionally, there is loss of fat and decent of the facial fat pads which create an aged look. A facelift removes and lifts the excess skin and restructures the facial exoskeleton below the skin by repositioning a structure called the SMAS. Additionally, most patients requiring a facelift also require a procedure in the neck to compliment the face.  Facelifts are one of the most powerful procedures for facial rejuvenation. Our expectation is to provide a rejuvenated look without the “pulled-face” appearance of some facelifts. Results will have a lifetime effect, but sagging can develop again years later in which some patients undergo a revision.

Are you a candidate? If you have developed sagging skin on the face, loss of volume, or jowls then you are likely a candidate for a facelift. Patients of all ages present for facelift and often undergoing a facelift at a younger age allows for longer lasting results.

Fat Grafting is a technique used to remove fat from unwanted areas and transfer it to parts of your body that need enhancement (ex. Transfer from outer thighs or abdomen to areas of buttock, hands or breasts) to create an augmented look..

Why? Patients often desire fuller hips or buttocks. A technique to achieve this look is to borrow fat, process it and reinject the fat to create that curvy appearance. Fat grafting can also be used to help smooth out areas of divots from prior surgeries or liposuction. The results allow for a natural way to fill in or augment certain areas of the body. 

Are you a candidate? If you have an area of your body that could be filled in with fat, or you desire to accentuate certain curves on your body then you may be a candidate for this surgery.

Facial Fat Grafting

Facial fat grafting is a technique utilizing your own fat cells to create balance, volume and contouring that provides improvement in the appearance of the aging face. This technique is sometimes used in conjunction with face lifts.

As you age fat is lost in the face, and this loss of volume leads to signs of aging such as sunken eyes or hallow cheeks. Through this procedure, fat is taken from one part of your body, processed and injected to particular areas of fat loss. The results depend on how much of the grafted fat develops a blood supply and survives. Once the fat integrates it will become part of your skin and underlying tissue. This provides you with a rejuvenated and refreshed look providing fuller smoother contours to the face.

Why? As opposed to fillers, fat is taken from your own body and reinjected into sites lacking volume. This a more permanent method to restore the youthful volume that has been lost during the aging process.

Are you a candidate? Patients are candidates for this operation if they have signs of volume loss and are interested in a more permanent solution. Areas that appear sunken or hallow such as the cheeks are ideal places for fat grafting.

An inverted nipple is due to tight bands that contract the nipple into the breast. It is always important to make sure an inverted nipple is not a result of breast cancer. Once this has been ruled out a repair of an inverted nipple can be considered. Small incisions are made around the nipple and the tight bands are released. The nipple is then resuspended and allowed to heal. The expected result is to fully repair the inverted nipple.

Why? Due to the inherent structures of the breast, tight bands and can pull on the nipple causing an inverted appearance. Release of these bands can help improve the appearance of the nipple.

Are you a candidate? If you have developed an inverted nipple that is not due to breast cancer you are a candidate for nipple inversion repair

Labiaplasty is performed for a variety of reasons. With time the labia can elongate causing an undesired cosmetic look, rubbing, and even infection. This surgical procedure reduces the size of the labia.

Why? Labia change with time. It is an intimate and important part of a womans body. Cosmetic surgery to restore the labia can relieve displeasure or concern with any changes that have occurred with time.

Are you a candidate? If you have developed a concern for the appearance of your labia or are constantly bothered by rubbing, rashes, and even infection then you may be a candidate for this procedure.

Liposuction is a surgical procedure where fat is removed from unwanted areas using small incisions and a cannula.  Liposuction targets specific locations and utilizes the skins ability to retract and aid in reshaping the figure.

Why? Fat can deposit in areas and be very difficult to eliminate through diet and exercise. Liposuction is a tried and true technique for permanently removing these areas and leading to a more ideal aesthetic look. Liposuction will remove the fat cells to that area and help reshape and redefine the body.

Are you a candidate? Patients who have unwanted focal areas of fat and good healthy skin are the best candidates for liposuction.

Facial Liposuction

There are stubborn areas of fat that sometimes do not go away. Particularly around the jaw and neck, fat can be removed with liposuction techniques. This provides a patient with a more sculpted and defined look.

Why? Liposuction works well for patients that have disproportionate fat deposits in the face and neck. The fat cells are removed completely during this process and those with healthy skin will develop a more contoured look following the procedure.

Are you a candidate? You are a candidate for this procedure if you have excess fat in the face or neck areas that are in particular disproportionate to the rest of the face and neck.

Pregnancy and childbirth can cause many changes to a woman’s body. Once a patient has decided they are done having children, Plastic Surgery is an option to help fix some of the changes your body experienced during that time. A consultation includes a full evaluation targeting the patients particular areas of concern. Typical sites including with a mommy-makeover include the breasts, abdomen, and flanks.

Why? Although pregnancy is one of the most incredible gifts in life it does cause change to a woman’s body. The breast, particularly after breast feeding, may become ptotic and deflated, the abdomen after stretching can likewise have sagging tissue. There may also be areas of unwanted fat that are bothersome, and were not present prior to having children. These areas of concerns can be addressed and corrected with a “mommy make-over.” The goal of this surgery is to help reverse the changes of pregnancy and child rearing to a realistic outcome. The areas of concern will be discussed with you and your surgeon.

Whether born with misshaped ears or acquired disproportionate ears over time either due to age or trauma an otoplasty also known as ear reconstruction can improve the appearance of the external ear. The lobe can also need improvements from prior piercings or trauma. The specific procedures depends on the problem being treated. You can expect to be placed in a wrap for several days after the operation. There will be some bruising and swelling.

Following otoplasty, you can expect an improved appearance of the external ear with the ultimate goal to match the contralateral ear. If both ears require surgery then each will be treated to match a normal looking ear as best as possible.

Why? Ears come in all shapes and sizes and the intricate folds of the ears can vary from person to person and even from ear to ear on the same person.  This can be a bothersome area to patients and improved aesthetics can have a dramatic effect on patients.

The nose is the center of the face, one of the most important focal points in facial aesthetics. A rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to reshape and redefine the nose. The key to rhinoplasty surgery is devising a plan between the patient and surgeon to create a look that is appropriate and realistic to achieve. The goal will be to provide you with a nose you want, that balances your facial features, and improves the overall facial aesthetics. 

Why? Noses come in all shapes and sizes. Some are too small others are too large. Some are narrow, some are wide, and others are crooked. If you have nasal features that are a concern then considering a rhinoplasty might be the next step for you.

Are you a candidate? If you have nasal features that need modification then you may be a candidate. Also, if you have had prior rhinoplasty with unwanted outcome then you may be a candidate for a revision surgery. Rhinoplasty is one of the most challenging operations in plastic surgery so it will be a primary goal during the consultation to make sure the patient and surgeon are on the same page regarding the expected outcome.

The procedure and recovery: An incision is made under the nose and inside the nose to expose the underlying structures. Sutures and sometimes grafts are used to help reshape the nose, and the bones of the nose are also often modified. Following the procedure you will have swelling and bruising. The surgeon will often place a splint over the nose to protect it. Swelling can persist for months following the surgery, however the majority of it will subside in a few weeks. Revisional surgery will not be considered for a year following the original rhinoplasty to account for the prolonged healing time and swelling.

Scar Revision

Scars are not created equal. Each patient scars differently, and each scar for an individual patient can be different as well. Either through the use of lasers or surgery a scar can be removed and revised. If surgery is chosen, your scar will be removed and the plastic surgeons will use techniques to close the incision with precision to avoid redeveloping an unsightly scar. Incisions take 8 month to a year to mature. You will experience redness before the scar fades to its final result. You can expect to see improvement throughout the healing process.

Why? If you have had a surgery or developed a scar that is bothersome then a scar revision may be helpful. There are different therapeutic options to address each individual scar.
