What Kind of Post-Procedure Care Is Required?
Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing the risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also slow the aging process.

Botox ®, orbotulinum toxin, is a commonly used agent used to rejuvenate the aging face. Botox® is injected into facial muscles that cause severe frown lines, forehead creases and crow’s feet, temporarily relaxing them and leaving the overlying skin improved and wrinkle-free.
Why? As your face ages, there are many changes that occur with time. One of the most age-defining features of the face are the wrinkles or rhytids that develop over time. By injecting Botox precisely into the muscles and targeting specific locations, the effect of this agent can refresh your appearance with satisfying results. You will begin to see muscle relaxation after several days and full results within 2 weeks. Injectables Juvéderm Volbella® XC, Ultra/ Ultra plus®, Voluma, Vollurre
Juvederm injectables are excellent treatment options for patients who do not want to undergo a more permanent surgical process for rejuvenation, or are considering surgery but would like to see potential results.
Why? Signs of aging include loss of volume throughout the face and the development of wrinkles. Juverderm injectables are used to treat these areas of concern. They are composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance naturally produced by your body, and injected to help volumize targeted areas. Treatments are not permanent and can be reversed if desired. The results are appreciated immediately. You may have some bruising or discomfort. In the event that there are any issues the hyaluronic acid can be reversed and dissolved with another medication.
Are you a candidate? If you have developed skin wrinkles, deep folds, or loss of volume around your face then you are a potential candidate for filler treatments.
Kybella® is an injectable agent used to dissolve fat under the chin and provides patients with improved jaw and neck lines. It is approved for use in the submental, aka “double chin” or "turkey wattle" area. Often patients require multiple treatments to achieve their expected results.
Why? The double-chin is a difficult area to improve. Kybella® injections are a non-surgical method to dissolve this fat and provide a more contoured neckline.
Are you a candidate? You are a candidate for Kybella® if you have excess superficial fat created an obtuse cervicomental angle or double chin.
Leg veins can be caused by many factors including genetics, prolonged standing, or pregnancy. Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical treatment in which a special solution is injected into the unwanted superficial veins, which causes the lining of the veins to swell and stick together. Over time, the vein turns into scar tissue and disappears.
Why? The appearance of superficial varicose veins and spider veins over time can cause embarrassment and start to affect what you decide to wear, especially in the summer months. Generally, the problem will get worse with time. Typically, sclerotherapy results will be seen in 3-6 weeks. Multiple treatment sessions are usually required to achieve the desired results. Veins that respond to treatment usually don’t come back, but new veins may appear.
Are you a candidate? If you are bothered by the appearance of spider veins and superficial varicose veins, you may be a candidate for sclerotherapy.

Intense pulsed light (IPL) is combined with radiofrequency for maximal results in treating skin discoloration and sun damage, leading to smoother and more vibrant looking skin.
- Why? Years of sun damage, often seen on the face, legs, neck and upper chest in women, can cause mottled redness, brown spots and uneven skin texture. Elos Plus treatments are used to even out skin tone and texture, taking years off someone's apparent age and reducing the need to regularly apply foundation makeup.
- Are you a candidate? If you have redness, brown patches or spots, broken blood vessels, or irregular skin texture, and want minimal down time, you may be a candidate for Elos Plus.
- The procedure and recovery: Before treatment, a cool gel will be applied to the skin. As treatment occurs, a bright light will flash on the skin and you will feel a slight stinging sensation. After treatment, brown spots typically get slightly darker and then flake off. Redness may occur and will typically resolve in 1-2 days.
- Results: Typically, desired results will take 1-3 treatment sessions, but some improvement will usually be seen with each treatment.
Two powerfully precise lasers are combined in the Excel V laser by Cutera, and used to treat the appearance of rosacea, facial veins, brown spots and spider veins on the legs.
- Why? Redness of the skin, whether due to rosacea or sun damage, can be difficult to cover with makeup and difficult to treat with medications. Laser treatments target redness and broken blood vessels without damaging the skin. Similarly brown spots related to years of sun damage can be erased or greatly reduced with laser treatment. This can take years off the appearance of someone’s age and creates a youthful glow. Spider veins on the legs commonly appear due to genetics, pregnancy or prolonged standing. They can cause embarrassment and usually get worse with time. Laser is a non-invasive approach to treat small spider veins, in a way that does not utilize any needles or surgery.
- Are you a candidate? If you flush easily, have a very red face, have freckles or sun spots on the face, chest, arms or hands, you may be a candidate for this treatment. If you are interested in a non-invasive approach to spider vein treatment, you are a candidate for this laser as well.
- Procedure and Recovery: During laser treatment, you will feel a slight stinging sensation. Typically treatments take a manner of minutes. You will be given a cool compress afterwards. Depending on what is being treated, you might have redness or swelling that lasts anywhere from 1 day to 1 week, and makeup can be worn.
- Results: Improvement typically can be seen a few weeks after the first treatment. Depending on what is being treated, anywhere from 1-4 sessions may be desired for full results.
Legs
A non-invasive laser treatment used to treat the appearance of spider veins on the legs.
- Why? Spider veins on the legs commonly appear due to genetics, pregnancy or prolonged standing. They can cause embarrassment and usually get worse with time. Laser is a non-invasive approach to treat small spider veins, in a way that does not utilize any needles or surgery.
- Are you a candidate? If you are interested in a non-invasive approach to spider vein treatment, you are a candidate for this laser as well.
- Procedure and Recovery: During laser treatment, you will feel a slight stinging sensation. Immediately after the treatment, slight redness and swelling is normal and usually disappears in a few hours. Bruising may occur in some patients.
- Results: Improvement typically can be seen a 2-6 weeks after the first treatment. For leg vein treatment, 2-4 treatment sessions are expected.
The Laser Genesis by Cutera is a non-invasive laser treatment used to stimulate the skin’s natural processes to reverse many signs of aging skin, including fine lines, enlarged pores, rough skin texture, and facial redness.
- Why? As we get older, time takes its toll in many subtle ways on the skin. Laser Genesis is a very gentle treatment without any downtime, and is used to decrease pore size, reduce redness, and improve texture.
- Are you a candidate? If you are looking to achieve smoother, healthier-looking skin, you may be a candidate for this procedure.
- The procedure and recovery: Laser Genesis is an ideal “lunchtime” procedure. After the treatment, there can be some slight pinkness of the skin that lasts a couple hours at most.
- The results: Monthly treatments for a series of six sessions are recommended for most people. Many patients will then do a single maintenance treatment once every 6-12 months.
Non-invasive technology used to treat and remove unwanted facial hairs around the upper lip, chin, cheeks and upper neck areas and unwanted lower body hair including the bikini area and legs.
- Why? Unwanted hair can be embarrassing, and shaving, waxing and tweezing can cause irritation, rashes, and ingrown hairs. Laser treatments permanently reduce unwanted hair safely and effectively.
- Are you a candidate? If you have unwanted hair, especially if it is dark or coarse, you may be a candidate for laser hair removal. At Trihealth, we have lasers that can safely treat patients of all skin colors. The appropriate laser will be chosen based on your skin type and hair color.
- The procedure and recovery: A cool gel is applied before treatment. Most patients do not require a numbing cream, but it can be used if needed. The laser treatment itself is often described as a stinging sensation. Cool compresses are given after the treatment.
- Results: Typically, desired results will take 2-6 treatment sessions, and afterwards many patients can be hair-free for months. There is much less hair when it eventually grows back, and it is usually finer and lighter in color.
