The TriHealth Heart & Vascular Institute helps patients monitor their heart issues through the use of an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), a device that detects any life-threatening, rapid heartbeat. An ICD is used in cases where there is concern over a patient’s risk for severe arrhythmia, specifically, ventricular tachycardia.

How ICD Therapy Works

ICD therapy involves the insertion of an ICD unit to help monitor, document, and regulate your heart rhythm so you can lead a normal, worry-free life.
