Getting Started on Your Journey to Recovery

How Do I Get Started?

What to expect during your intake call and comprehensive assessment

Intake Call

We know it takes a great deal of courage to make this first call. You can expect to be met with warmth and respect throughout all stages of treatment, including intake. All information provided about you, or your loved one will be kept strictly secure and confidential. You can expect our intake coordinator to gather the following information upon initial contact:

  • Basic demographic information
  • Insurance details
  • Current substance use and brief description of concern
  • Preliminary screening for substance withdrawal risk
  • Safety screening for self-harm risk
  • Referral source (if applicable)
Assessment

Your path to recovery starts with a confidential assessment by a dedicated counselor, where your story is heard with nonjudgemental support and compassion. The comprehensive assessment is designed to diagnose substance use disorders, understand the severity and impact on one’s personal and professional life, and to identify the most appropriate treatment options.

  • You will want to fill out the assessment sent through MyChart prior to your scheduled appointment for a more efficient assessment process.
  • You will be asked to submit to a breathalyzer and provide a urine sample at your assessment appointment to assist the clinician in making the most appropriate and safe treatment recommendations.
  • You can expect the assessment process to last between 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • Please bring your ID, insurance card, and contact details for any requested releases of information you may require (i.e., therapist, physician, probation officer, attorney, etc.)
