The entrance to the Bethesda North ER (officially known as the Emergency Department) is located to the left, or north, side of the main hospital entrance (campus map).
If you arrive through the Emergency Department doors during the busiest times (10:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.), you will be greeted by a registered nurse and a physician specifically trained in emergency care, a service team unique in Northern Cincinnati to Bethesda North Hospital.
Twenty-Four Hours a Day, Seven Days a Week
No matter the time or the day of the week, the medical professional who greets you at the door will quickly:
- Assess your condition
- Start running tests, if necessary
- Decide whether to send you to Express Care or the main Emergency Department
Express Care
With a Rapid Medical Exam with a physician in triage, the goal is to treat your problem and have you out the door within 90 minutes. Situations qualifying include minor illnesses and injuries such as cuts, sprains, broken bones and other quickly treatable situations.
Main Emergency Department
If you go to the main, 54-bed Emergency Department, your condition is likely more complex and may require a hospital stay. Because Bethesda North Hospital excels at primary care, it is rarely necessary to transfer you to another facility.
Your Satisfaction Matters
At some point during your time in the Emergency Department, our staff will hand you a survey where you can tell us how we are doing. Our patient satisfaction scores have ranked in the top 5 percent nationally.
