Podiatric Surgery Residency

The TriHealth Bethesda North Podiatric Surgery Residency is a three year residency that will focus on the surgical education and training of all aspects of Podiatry. The program is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) as a Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency with added credential of Rearfoot Reconstruction and Ankle Surgery (PMSR/RRA). The program is approved for six positions (two at each year level). Rotations are designed to allow the resident to obtain a well-rounded education and training to prepare them for private practice and lifelong learning.

Trihealth is a PMSR-RRA program with an exceptional variety of surgical exposure throughout the Cincinnati area. Residents cover in-house management at Bethesda North and Good Samaritan Hospitals with additional surgical coverage at multiple surgery centers throughout the Cincinnati area. We also train at two wound care centers. Residents perform a large volume of surgical procedures far exceeding CPME requirements, which are generally met by the beginning of second year. Our residents perform cases under the supervision of numerous Podiatric and Orthopedic surgeons on a daily basis. While TriHealth does not have an Orthopedic Surgery residency, our residents cover Foot and Ankle Orthopedic and trauma cases. Didactics include case review, board review, cadaver workshops, practice management and journal clubs. Additionally, our program has opened a new resident run clinic and offers possible ACFAS conference attendance for two residents annually.
